Senior Geochemist / Environmental Scientist

At Mine Earth, we provide life-of-mine environmental services and specialise in mine closure and rehabilitation. With offices in Perth and Brisbane, our team includes environmental scientists, engineers, geologists and ecologists—united by a shared mission to restore post-mining landscapes and make a lasting difference.

We are growing and currently seeking a Senior Geochemist to join our team. If you are ready to take on meaningful, diverse projects and work alongside industry-leading professionals, we would love to hear from you.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Undertaking geochemical and physical assessments of mine waste materials with occasional site visits
  • Assessing environmental impacts and advising on the management of the materials
  • Working closely with our environmental engineers who develop landform designs and our closure planning team
  • Ensuring the integrity and reliability of analytical results across diverse datasets
  • Producing high-quality reports that deliver clear messages to our valued clients


What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years’ experience in environmental geochemistry or contaminated sites
  • Relevant professional qualifications (environmental science, chemistry, or geology)
  • Experience in the consultancy or mining industry with an understanding of timesheets, budgets and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and a commitment to continual learning and improvement


Other Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Static and kinetic assessments
  • Water quality modelling (e.g. reinjection, pit lakes) and interaction rock/fluids
  • Environmental chemistry (e.g. isotopes), environmental backgrounds, and source pathway receptors
  • Geology, mapping, and rock physical properties
  • Developing management plans and operational procedures
  • Competency with software such as Leapfrog, IOGas, Phreeqc, Python
