Surface Water Assessments

Surface water impacts represent one of the biggest long term mine closure risks. Mine Earth utilise a suite of hydrological and hydraulic models to assess surface water risks at closure and develop drainage control structures under a range of conditions. Effective surface water assessments are critical to develop closure designs that minimise the need for on-going maintenance, are geared towards the achievement of long term closure objectives and are better able to meet stakeholder expectations. These assessments provide key information to the landform design process, including drainage controls, storage features, slope configuration, upstream runoff management and armouring specifications. They can be utilised to identify flooding and surface water risks, and to develop appropriate management strategies.

Mine Earth have completed surface water assessments for a range of clients in the Pilbara, Mid West and Goldfields-Esperance regions of WA.
